Dressing For Your body Type: Inverted Triangle

So today I am doing another fashion related post. A few weeks ago I did a post on how to determine your body shape If you haven’t read that then check it out here Find your Body Shape.

Today I am going to continue on and talk about the Inverted Triangle Shape and how to dress your best if this is your body shape. I will be doing the rest of the shapes so stay tuned for that! So here we go ..

 

So we are going to talk about what an it means to have and Inverted Triangle shaped body and what types of clothing look flattering on you. So why is it important to know what your body shape is? Knowing your body shape helps you to pick cloths that will look the absolute best on your body type.

Inverted Tirangle basically means that you have broad shoulders and a slimmer waist & hip area. So your a bigger upper body. Now because this is the case you really want the focus to go to your lower body to balance out the broad shoulders. The goal is to balance your shape out with the clothing that you wear.

bottomsSo , a good way to balance out your body is to wear bright bottoms. Skinny jeans are a no no endless you have bright colored skinny jeans , then they are ok. So stick with brighter bottoms or even textured pants.

SkirtThis is a really good example of textured bottoms. Another great thing about this outfit is that the skirt has a little bit of a flared out piece which is perfect because it  gives the illusion that you are proportional.

TopYou really want to try to make an extra effort to accentuate your waist , so a belt is perfect. Shirts that Flare out near the hip area are also perfect for your body shape. You can see here that I also have boot cut or wide leg jeans on which also make me look very proportional.

How To: Style A Beanie

I hope you are having a BEAUTYFUL saturday!

So today I am going to show you how I like to style my various beanies! Don’t worry I have casual & fancier beanies to show you. Its time to take out your beanies and accessorize your outfits!

5Here I have This purple Beanie ,which is more of a casual, hobo looking beanie. I like to wear this beanie with really casual outfits like everyday looks. You can attach it farther away from the forehead for a slump grungy look….The nail polish I’m wearing is Avon Midnight Plum & Revlon Facets Of Fuscia.

TIP: To keep beanies on your head then hot glue a comb into the beanie! (Check out the video below to see what I’m talking about)

This Beanie can still be casual because of the material but is more of a nicer casual. So whats the difference between this one and the purple one? The color, white or cream beanies look more formal and less grungy. This one I would definitely wear on a casual date, or with a dress as a matter of fact. (Its all about the color)

2This Beanie is a total different fabric , its more of a crochet fabric. This beanie is a large beanie and I love it because it gives me that jamaican style. I like to wear this an inch back from my hairline . I think this beanie looks the best with my hair to the side, side braid or  I also like to tuck all my hair into the Beanie for a more Jamaican look… Because of the fabric this can be super casual (because its so slump in the back) Or with a cute dress.

This beanie is the same crochet fabric except its a white creme color. This is an beanie I would wear on any date . Its more of a fancy beanie that like I said can be wore with a casual or fancier outfit. Its more versatile because of the fabric & color.
